Personal tips for losing weight

Some of the tools or tactics I and some of my friends have tried in the past with different success rates include:

Introducing appetite suppressants in moderation. Initially limiting their use to replacement of only one meal of an existing system.

Replacing water at meals, all meals. None of us felt drinking a glass before a meal was of merit. We have been more interested in moderation and accountability rather than taking the easy way out.

Replace one snack/desert item with celery, easy thing to do for lunch, while ensuring NOT to include dips. It actually takes more calories to digest celery than the amount of calories in celery.

Cyber Monday/Thanksgiving geek discounts

I got word Buy.com is having a “Cyber Monday” from Thanksgiving and the following few days. Not sure what’s going to be up at the time, but any little bit helps.

Kind of ironic, when I purchased my external Terradrive this last year I spent a bit more doing an impulse purchase than if I’d at least checked online for even local comparisons.

Keep in mind also both shipping costs, turn-around/delivery, as well as return policies whenever purchasing anything online OR in person from local vendors.

Play

A few months ago I delved into console multiplayer gaming, my son finally happy. With the amount of ps3 games out there, I decided to take advantage of a local used games outlet rather than drop full price each time my son yapped.

One difference I like about having a playstation3 in the house as opposed to other DVD game systems is it’s Blueray capable. Xbox360, I have no idea why they didn’t include this functionality.

The only thing that bothers me is current offerings of playstation3 games in the future being backwards compatable once playstation4s come on to the market. Currently the Xbox360 can’t play older Xbox games without an additional harddrive, and in some instances not at all even.

Feeling secure

Home locations are what they are to different people. For residents living in them, they should feel safe. For criminals their a target. No matter how good a door locks, there’s always someone with a sledge hammer.

Last week I decided to make use of networking my webcam to my server, having it turn on automatically using sensor programming. While someone ‘could’ steal the computer itself, by streaming video and capturing it on a server elsewhere I’d be able to at least see who the culprit was.

In most cases home invaders in broad daylight don’t wear black masks when entering neighborhoods, otherwise they’d be suspicious looking.
