Online community security is a headache, and rightly so
Monday, December 31st, 2007Readers, do you suffer from migraine headaches? If so, you know what to do. The rest of you, here’s something else to worry about.
If you’re with a certain online community using avatars and widgets, then you’re community is subject to infiltration and exploitation. For the last six months I’ve been investigating such a headache. While many disputed I was full of beans, I chose tonight as the night to show this exploitation publicly through Kevin Dixie’s site, Fuelmyblog.com.
Only because of my care for Kevin and Sylvie’s site did I choose to go public with this, since I trust them with much of what I do online…my wife…my stash of BeeGee’s vinyl…you name it, Kevin’s in it.
The rest of you readers not knowing what I’m talking about, it’s better you don’t. Until you’re online community is socially engineered by someone, you won’t believe it until it happens to you.
Word.
After the upcoming turkey feast in most of the United States, that night will begin the period when many family men start the task of decorating their homes.
