Better moving parts and no lead paint, inside or out.

Currently she’s the Lead Point Leader for having followed my directions in this week’s “Friday Blog Review Selection Reflection” I’m holding on Fuelmyblog.com’s Forum.

QA: How do you blog so much?

Thursday, July 5th, 2007

Total Spender made a comment worth answering…“how the hell do you manage to be such a prolific and regular poster?!! ” Good question.

I don’t know. Things just come to me. One of the problems I had when I started blogging was all the things that came to mind when I was away from my keyboard. Like most people, I blog ‘live’ and type ‘from the gut’ using my portal at Blogger…most of the time.

The other times I rely on a few tools that serious bloggers don’t realize they need.

  • Digital Camera: Pictures are worth thousands of words. They also give validation to what your trying to convey sometimes. People also like seeing pictures of attractive women walking away from me. Notice you never see them here on this blog.
  • Handheld PDA: My choice is Palm’s Z-22. $100.00 USD gives a user everything without WiFi they’ll need. Contact sync with Outlook, even though I usually just use the Palm Desktop due to hating MS apps. Many times I’ll make either short blog notes for later, or have readily all my contacts in case I come up with an idea and can call someone.
  • Cell Phone: On three occasions I’ve personally tormented Jeff Butera; of Fox30 News; with things like my bus getting it’s mirror slapped off by a passing Jacksonville firetruck on the Matthews Bridge…my son finding a 12 gauge shotgun days after a 14 year old alledgedly murdered an adult with one…and some other nonsense. On the other side of reality, it’s good to have for just having a voice mailbox for people to call if you don’t answer. Voicemail can always be checked from a landline, free of charge.
  • Digital tape recorder: for those moments you can’t hold a PDA with one hand and write with a stylus with the other. I also keep a clip on microphone in my gearpack, for those moments someone would balk about being recorded. Anyone who’s read my blog knows I’ve never put up podcasts of conversations…it’s just good to have recordings to go over later to make sure I get my facts straight.

Using these tools that I carry throughout the day, when I return home I’ve usually got some material to fall back on in the worst case my mind hasn’t something meaningful to excrete. I’ll start with downloading my photos first to my PC, glance at the thumbnails, upload them to my server for archive and safe keeping. If something catches my eye or makes me recall an event of the day mentionable…then it’s Eureka time!

Sometimes THAT doesn’t work. Then hopefully I’ve remembered to set an alarm on my PDA for checking my PDA’s memo entries…IF…my PDA’s not on ’silent mode’…and IF…my PDA’s close enough to hear. Chances are it’s in my bag still in another room, and I’m SOL…but I’ll use the info later at the end of the month for some ‘blog for the sake someone in the world will do a search on it’ thing.

That pretty much covers it, except for the stuff I pick up on through MyBlogLog and Fuelmyblog. I make it a point of writing on matters I’ve experienced. Usually I always give credit where credit’s due, especially if it’s something another blog started in my mind. If its’ something I’ve always been set in my ways…is about me…and the other blogger just jogged me back to reality, or their opinion is honestly crap in my perception…then it’s ‘bite me’ mode and time to powerblog an entry. I won’t bother mentioning or linking back to ‘em.

Online porn? I have no idea what that is or how it could influence someone to blog…not that you asked…just throwing that in on the assumption someone’s out there blogging while using that as inspiration.

Finally…and I didn’t mean this to be so longwinded, but feel the love, TS…I look at blogging as simply a hobby. The internet…my hangout since I’m not into bowling, bars, but have known to be ‘in’ a few broads in my lifetime. Geekery to me is art, something holy and a matter of Zen. I also think the world’s envious of America, due to International Flight Controllers in other countries being required to know English, as well as HTML is American English based.

I don’t consider losing some readers a drawback when saying that. I look at it as weeding out unnecessary chaff who couldn’t admit to their true calling in being enlightened to reality in the viral virtual world they tried to paint.

Time for bed. Hope that answered your question. Usually I don’t think twice about anyone commenting, but since you’re sexualities been questioned by foreigners so much, you needed me man. You’re the envy of all the married heterosexual men here in the States. Keep it up.

Your bestest pal and number one fan,
Fred

ps. The entry above was pure BS. To answer your question directly, view the image at the top right. That sums up why I blog so much. Four children and two decades with the same woman, you’ve gotta have a hobby.

Cheers,
John (not Fred, the bullcrap blameshifting artist above)
