.:Fracas Needs Protection

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

For those following this blog; and other wonderful jewels I bestow upon the world through irregularity; I want to take a moment to clarify a rumor that got started by a fellow blogger, Fracas.

Honestly, dear…you should have gotten a pair of exam gloves before punching that colon on your keyboard with your pinky.

First off, let me state for the record…I DID create a Fuel at Fuelmyblog.com that stated the following:

Fracas is a male cross dresser! Pass it on!

However…it was not a mass fuel.

…Fracas was the only person to receive it.

Through her paranoia and not having checked with anyone, Fracas started slandering my poor name all over the internet to her readers, attempting to deface my lack of character.

I still adore her blog. I could use less of the banter about breastes, but hey…gotta hide behind something, I guess. Just remember…wear protection next time, okay kiddo?

The fantasy of a life with Fracas

Sunday, February 10th, 2008

So many things in so few minutes in the dream of being with Fracas. Next stop a piece of heaven…Winter Park real estate…I’m sure Fracas would be happy to spring for the diggs.

We’ll be able to fish, hunt, and enjoy the sound of little pitter pattering feet along the streams and brooks our children will find in this airy place on earth.

Then there’s all the nooks and crannys for me and Fracas to explore on our own.

It get’s better as we get older, doesn’t it?

Lights, Camera, Action…COPS!

Monday, September 11th, 2006

Lights! This would be one of the most hilarious posts I fabricated, if it wasn’t true. Last Thursday, our family was working with a video crew on a project for their upcoming PR campaigns.

We actually didn’t know it was going to happen, until we opened the door and found close to a dozen people coming in/through our door. What we WERE expecting was maybe a few digital pictures for a poster or something, with one or two people.

Anyways, first in the door was the camera guy. Bigger equipment than what I’ve seen most news reporters in the field with…I don’t know if that’s due to it being older or better. Next came the lighting guy…two large light panels, as well as his assistant who was holding a panel against the window outside the apartment for light not to come in.Lights

Next came sound. Poor guy had the heaviest job. He had what looked like an oversized fanny pack that sat against his stomach, that hung onto a harness that looked like it was meant to pull a locomotive. Top it all off, he’s got the job of holding the mic boom over everyone to be heard, but kept out of the frame.

Finally, makeup. Cute sweet girl. They had to turn off the AC due to noise, along with a fan for circulation…so I was sweating double…remember…I did NOT know it would be this involved. Of course I made sure to plug the homelessinjax.com website…make SURE they all saw it on the screen before leaving…said it at least three times in a row while looking each person in the eye to brand it in their brain.camera

Anyways…it lasted about 20 minutes AFTER all the setup.

That…isn’t the interesting part.

While outside trying to set up a few ‘walkthrough’s of the family down the sidewalk, we heard a siren on the other side of the building of the apartment. It was definately a police siren, and it sounded like it was stopped or in an alleyway. After about 14 seconds, it could be heard moving closer and the echo changed, so we could tell it was moving real slow.

One of the crew mentioned it was weird, and I told them it was probably a beat cop trying to get someone to move out of his way. It happens. You know it, and I know it.

So, we did the shoot, in the front of the building. Mind you, our apartment has windows both front and rear.

Well, a few minutes later, the kids decided to ride their bikes while the crew loaded up. While going out looking, one of the crew told me there was what looked like an arrest going on.

I was already on it when he mentioned about the kids. Got ‘em in after I saw below.

Not just any arrest. Florida Highway Patrol. Tactical units. Sedan and K-9 trucks without light bars. State Troopers in black tactical uniforms…not normal patrol uniforms. No local cops at the time.

This…is not normal. Must have been a major sting.

Anyways, 10 minutes after that, the crew all heads out en masse, while the suspect is still in handcuffs standing in front of a Trooper’s car on the phone to someone.

Ironic. Full video shoot crew…with makeup…comes to my house.
Hour later, major sting goes down by FHP, right outside my back windows where the picture was taken.
10 minutes later, the crew leaves en masse after everything is secured by FHP.

…and I was the only one who got the pic!

Again, hilarious if it wasn’t true.

An hour after, I called home and checked with my wife that everything was clear. Turns out one of the suspects had ditched a gun during the takedown…the cameraman mentioned that he saw a weapon being cleared of it’s ammunition.

The location…apparently…was a bush in the picture above, on our apartment’s side of the wall.

Face it. We’re blessed.

Later.
