Professional branding

A few months ago I began the path to hold credentials as a Florida State Certified Recovery Peer Specialist. The easiest way to describe it is being a legitimate Life Coach to people living with a mental illness.

Something that I started noticing was the lack of experience many of my peers have compared to myself. Not many have backgrounds in marketing, business management, networking, or other things to pull together when needed.

I’ve been an advocate for branding. Whether it’s a business card or a unique easy to remember URL with personalized email address, branding is the strongest guerrilla tactic to market yourself.

This coming holiday if I can put my mug on a set of custom mugs, it could be what gives that little ‘push’ when it comes time for me to be considered against my peers for upcoming projects or jobs.

What are ways that you found useful or a waste to market yourself?
