You can get a Arai Corsair V, some leather, and you can look cool. Or not, and whatever you like. For me helmets always kept me safe, as opposed to the reality of my head smashed into the gravel or found later protruding from the back of a tractor trailer rig.
It still amazes me the amount of young people inexperienced and involved in motorcycle deaths, decade after decade. Oddly enough, they’re also not usually on the receiving end: I’ve seen more helmetless fatalities where the responsible party was in fact a young adult in a four wheeler.
That’s why I wear a helmet. Because the other guy’s usually a twat who doesn’t really care if I make it home or not in time for dinner.
