A couple of months ago my friend and I went on a geek date, I had the chance of following him to where his server rack mount was physically located during an intense Denial of Service (DoS) attack was going on from Africa.

Since then I’ve been looking ultimately at the time when I ‘could’ make the move from leasing host space to self hosting on my own server. In the end, I’d still be paying someone for access and physical real estate for the equipment.

Looking at all the options for the most part bloggers don’t need anything further than what they’re using, it’s when they become million dollar generating entities that they should only consider self support. In the long run the headaches are cheaper.
