Online Shopping Tips
The other day I was asked to look over a site for Ferrari parts. Not a bad site and it fills a need for people needing such. But it brought to mind people having different things and needs than sometimes what people provide doing business online.
Know who you’re buying from.
Dealing with a new found out of state vendor, confirm their valid: prior verifiable reputation, existing customer service reps that answer phones, word of mouth of others in your network.
Know what the fine print says.
Returns, additional charges, warranties implied, and how much a company will stand behind their product…as well as how much it ‘could’ cost you as a consumer for later followup. Do they offer prepaid return postage materials?
Know what you want.
Not sure if a product will have the toys, bells, and whistles? Confirm product data sheets, especially when integrating new items requiring Bluetooth, WiFi, and backwards compatability.
Don’t fall prey to ‘too good to be true’ deals.
They usually are, and again…read the fine print or know the vendor.
What are you ‘really’ getting?
If you can get it for only 5% down the road, chances are the additional cost of postage/handling/time will NOT save you anything online.
